-------------------
An attractive copy of Witsius’ influential and very interesting work which examines the parallels between ancient Egyptian religious practices and Hebrew rites. Includes a separate treatise on the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel and the legendary Legio Fulminatrix, the Christian "Thundering Legion" under the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. A fascinating fusion of early modern theology, biblical exegesis, and proto-orientalist scholarship with a nicely engraved title page which exemplifies this fusion.
