Provenance:Gilt crest on front board with the Latin inscription "Londinensis Schola Civitatis". This crest was used between 1890 and 1905 by the headmaster of the City of London School (CLS), Mr. Pollard, who gave out books with the crest as C.L.S. prizes (information found in the school's archives, in a document called "General Notes").

Spine with very minor cracking, rubbing, and scuffing. Tooled label present. Both boards securely attached with rubbed joints and hinges starting. Boards with some light discolouration, scratches, marks, and scuffing. Shelf and edge wear. Very minor dulling to page edges. Text block very clean with light toning. Uncollated but appears complete.
