An interesting 18th century exegetical work focussing on the books of the Old Testament and Apocryphal books. The sections are concise and very readable. A fantastic guide which, amongst other things, gives interesting context to the OT books.

Contemporary full tree (marbled) calf binding, rubbed, with minor loss at the head of the spine as pictured. Both boards are securely attached and the binding stands without shelf lean. No attached bookplates, but with a pencil inscription from a previous bookseller (circa 1976?) to the ffep recto. Some very minor dampstaining in the upper right corner from the front pastedown through to pp.xi, pictured on the title page. The majority of the text block is exceptionally clean and bright. Some dampstaining from the rear pastedown through to circa pp.465, never affecting the legibility of the text. Some wormholing in the outer margin to the final few pages.
