Size: 218 x 339 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[(2), engraved t.p., A1-5, foldout map, B1-Z4, Aa1-,Xx4, Yy6, Zz2, Aa[a]1-Zzz4, Aaaa1-Bbbb4, (2)]

19th century half calf over cloth backed boards, retaining its tooled morocco label which reads "Fuller's Palestine". Front board detached, rear securely attached. Binding mildly rubbed. Page edges contemporaneously coloured red, as often. Bookplate of Mansfield College Library from the University of Oxford's collection (circa 1913), with their de-accession marks. Includes 17 maps (including the foldout map) and 7 bifold plates, plus the engraved title page. Collations of the maps, plates, etc, varies in different copies, but it does seem according to the bibliographies that this copy lacks 2 or 3, but does contain the commonly lacking very large foldout map. Bifold map of Manasseh beyond Jordan with minor loss in blank marginal space not affecting the map itself. Several of the maps have been backed on to later paper, attractively so, preserving the maps. The large map has some old tape affixed to the verso. Generally extremely clean throughout the text block. The text block is generally near fine to fine and presents very nicely indeed.
