Condition:
[(2), frontis, t.p., iii-xvi, large foldout, pp.1-568, (1)]
Contemporary full calf with a repeating geometric pattern blindstamped to the spine, with the original tooled red morocco label laid down between raised bands. Binding a little rubbed with some discolouration to the spine, but generally excellent. Joints a little rubbed with both boards securely attached, the binding secure, and without shelf lean. Page edges externally near fine, with some light foxing visible when spread. Ink ownership inscription of Jane Payne dated 1829, and thus a rather interesting copy for having early female ownership. Endpapers heavily foxed and toned, verso pages of frontis offset, but with the full text block very clean throughout. The text block is in excellent bright and clean condition, fully legible, never with loss of sense to the text. A lovely example of Locke's magnum opus.
