Contemporary full sheep, repeating gilt design in spine compartments between raised bands. Boards with gilt borders. Original tooled morocco title label extant. Binding subtlety rebacked with original backstrip laid down preserving its majority. A little rubbed, minor shelf and edge wear, all edges gilt, but very well preserved. Both boards securely attached, rear joints cracked, hinges secure
Collates as complete, including the several engraved titles, 27 full page plates, 98 in-text (24 almost full page), plus a huge number of in-text heraldic shields. This copy includes the usually lacking large foldout genealogical table. One of the 27 full-page plates includes an attractive map.
