A handwritten note dated 24th February 1969 reading "Uplands Dower House Crescent Southborough". The letter is asking if the letter's recipient would like to receive the Bible as a gift.
The letter reads "Dear Joyce, Since last written you, I have been wondering whether you might like to have my old Bible - I have for some little time been wondering to whom I might pass it on, and I should be very pleasant to give it you if you like to have it. It belongs to ? and my ?, and I think should it possible remain with their documents. Invoice for the rebinding and some repairs of the Bible by Dunn & Wilson Ltd., dated 4/8/70 by a Mrs C. J. Hudson, presumably the Catherine Joyce Hudson whose ownership inscription is written on a front blank. The enquiry letter sent to the owner from Dunn & Wilson Limited is also included.
The invoice provides a location of "Lancs Co. Liby Ulverston", which is presumably where Catherine Joyce Hudson worked and potentially where the Bible was held; included is a typewritten letter which outlines the Ulverston Resource Centre Library's history from 1986 to 1987. It is signed and dated "G. E. Marrison, Ulverston, 1 Oct 1987."
