Near contemporary panelled reverse calf boards, spine rebacked preserving earlier, probably original, tooled Morocco labels. Spine is decorated with some blindstamped designs as well as a Star of David at the head and foot. Spine rubbed with a bit of discolouration, bumped at the extremities, but shows nicely. Boards scuffed and discoloured with a little loss at the corners. Joints secure with endpapers replaced, preserving an original blank at the rear. The subscriber's list is bound at the rear of the volume instead of a more typical local at the front, but the full Bible textually collates as complete, as does the list of subscribers, bound without any plates. No attached bookplates or ownership inscription. Title page offset by a now lacking frontispiece. Generally very clean throughout text block, though toned throughout as typical. A little wear at the fore-edge of 9L1 through to 9S1 at the upper part of the leaves, not affecting any text. Some minor wormholing found throughout, only affecting a few leaves, affecting a few letters of text of the last few leaves of Revelations and the subscriber's list. Very slight shelf lean but remains vertically stable.
An excellent large folio King James Bible with lovely typography.
