PERHAPS THE FINEST OCTAVO BIBLE EVER PRINTED, BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED THROUGHOUT, HERE PRESENTED IN A STUNNING CONTEMPORARY FINE BINDING
-------------------
A beautiful antique King James Bible, and a rather rare printing, scarcely encountered in commerce, yet hugely desirable for the very luxurious manner of printing. This copy is in a remarkable fine binding, with the boards beautifully stamped in blind and decorated with gilt, and in a rather unusual but very interesting manner, the inside of the boards are also finely tooled in gilt as are the endpapers! The binding was a bespoke commission, circa the time of printing for 'H.G.B'.

Contemporary (or near) full leather very finely stamped in blind and decorated in gilt. Spine rubbed with minor losses, joints also rubbed, but with both boards attached, the binding secure, and without shelf lean. All edges gilt, a little dulled, but remaining attractive. Hinges a little cracked but holding firm. Without any attached bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Mildly toned through the text block but generally very good or better, exceptionally clean, without any underlining/writing or foxing. A beautiful example of one of the greatest King James Bibles of this format ever printed.
