A magnificent large four volume King James Bible with notably attractive illustrations throughout engraved after some of the greatest Old Masters, including Raphael. There are also maps and other fine plates. A truly exceptional antique King James Bible in beautiful bindings.

Collated as complete. Plates and maps uncollated but all appear to be present; there are a large quantity, including a very attractive double page map and many other maps, illustrations, diagrams (for example of Solomon’s Temple), etc. Generally exceptionally clean throughout the text blocks, some plates toned and a little offset to versos as typical, but otherwise internally near fine to fine.
Near contemporary half calf over cloth backed boards, all boards securely attached with the bindings secure. Bindings a little rubbed, a few scuffs, but generally remaining attractive. All volumes stand on the shelf.
An excellent set, overall very good to near fine.
