A very interesting book, with one foldout at the back, of this scarce veterinary manual for horses, written in French and printed in 1826.

Size: 92 x 140 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[t.p., i-vii, 319pp., 1pp. (errata), foldout plate]

Near contemporary half calf over marbled paper backed boards, the spine tooled in gilt, a little rubbed, the spine uniformly sunned, but presents well on the shelf. Joints a bit rubbed but with both boards securely attached, the binding secure, and without shelf lean. Shelf and edge wear. The odd spot of foxing to some leaves but generally very clean throughout; the foldout plate at the rear has a bit more foxing to its verso and recto, as does the verso errata leaf, else a nice copy internally. The WorldCat reference for this title contains two foldout plates in its collation, but we only have one plate at the rear which is labelled as 'plate 1', 'plate 2', and 'plate 3' on one foldout and so one assumes there would be another foldout with similar title format and thus this copy does lack one foldout at the rear, else collates as complete, including the tables and errata.
