Contemporary tree calf binding by Bickers and Son, the binding is signed at the head of the ffep. Spine very attractive, finely tooled in gilt, retaining its original tooled morocco label. Binding rubbed and a little dulled, joints rubbed, cracked, with boards attached but fragile. Top page edge dulled, all edges contemporaneously marbled, others very good. Bookplate to front pastedown. No ownership inscriptions. Text block without fault, no foxing, stains, rips, writing, etc, text block in fine condition.
