Condition: 

Spine with minor scuffing, superficial scratches, and rubbing. Tooled label present with very small fragment lacking from the top left corner. Very small fragment of backstrip lacking from the top left corner of the spine. Both boards securely attached with minor wear to joints and cracked hinges. Boards with minor scuffing, superficial scratches and rubbing. Prominent shelf and edge wear. Dulling to page edges. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Pencil inscription on ffep. Endpapers lightly toned with very minor foxing. Frontispiece and engraved title page toned and foxed; frontispiece transferred onto engraved title page. Very minor foxing on title page. Text block very clean with light toning around edges, and very sporadic very minor foxing. Plates toned with minor foxing. Very small number of plates very lightly transferred onto pages opposite.
