Condition: 

[frontis, i-xvi, 624pp.]

 

Spine lightly cracked and rubbed with wear to head and bottom. Top of the backstrip partially peeling off. Tooled label present. Both boards attached with rubbed joints and hinges cracked. Boards scuffed, scratched, rubbed, and with marks. Shelf and edge wear. Dulling to page edges. Snippets of seller titles (?) and some previous prices from the 1800s attached to front pastedown. Ownership inscription on preliminary. Frontispiece and engraved title page prominently toned and foxed around the edges. Text block very clean with light toning to edges and very sporadic very minor foxing. Plates toned and foxed.
