This work is well attested to and apparently contains one of the most interesting early accounts of the history of the British pub.

Full brown calf with reverse calf boards with a simple blind-stamped border to the inner side, and with a red tooled label to the spine in a compartment between raised bands. Small loss of the backstrip to the head and bottom of the spine. Both boards loosely attached with cracked joints and hinges. Binding rubbed and scuffed with few minor losses of leather at extremities. Some foxing to the edges of the boards. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges dulled, top edge darkened as often. Attached bookplate to front pastedown. No ownership inscriptions. Text block very clean with occasional foxing and marks, and light edge toning.
