Half brown calf over cloth backed boards with gilt titles in compartments to spines between raised bands. Bindings rubbed with unevenly sunned boards and some cracks to backstrips. All boards attached with rubbing along joints and some hinges cracked or starting. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges toned, and top edges darkened as often. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in volume one. Pencil ownership inscription to ffep in all volumes, with an extra pencil inscription to the ffep in volume one. Text blocks very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Slight shelf lean, and a more prominent shelf lean to volume four which doesn't stand upright on its own. Plates with some foxing and occasional damp staining.
