Four volumes bound into two, covering a wide range of different animal species, beautifully illustrated with a huge number of illustrations throughout.
Uniform half half over grained boards. Spines rubbed but without significant loss to the leather, thus would benefit from the application of a leather conditioner. Extremities rubbed but with joints very good and all boards securely attached. A little loss to gilt. Shelf and edge wear. Top page edges a little dulled with other edges very good. Shelf lean to both volumes. Corners a little deformed. Ink ownership inscription to head of front pastedown. A few spots of foxing to endpapers but generally very clean throughout, though toned.
