THE FIRST PLANTIN EDITION CONTAINING THE WORKS OF THE THREE POETS, CATULLUS, TIBULLUS, AND PROPERTIUS. THIS WAS ALSO THE FIRST SMALL PUBLICATION OF PLANTIN'S PRESS. THE TEXT FOUND WAS BASED ON THE ALDINE PRESS' ANTOINE MURET EDITION OF 1558.

Variant B with the last leaf being numbered 144 rather than 134.

Full calf with red gilt tooled label to a compartment on the spine between raised bands, other compartments with decorative tooling. Both boards securely attached with rubbing along joints and minor wear to hinges. Binding rubbed, more so to boards with some loss of leather. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges red, somewhat dulled, more so to top page edge as typical. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Endpapers foxed. Text block very clean with light edge toning, and some minor foxing. Occasional ink marginalia, primarily to ff.65-8. Leaves are numbered incorrectly, with few numbers being skipping, pagination ends on 144 but there are fewer leaves, refer to collation above. T1 and T2 with some loss to edges, not affecting any text. Pencil drawing to rear endpaper of a horse or unicorn (?). Ink inscription to the head of a rear endpaper.
