A beautiful folio size complete history of England, including a very rare printed history of the Druids. This history is very comprehensive, covering all major periods up until the time of printing in the late 18th century, and is beautifully illustrated with full page plates, also with an excellent very large foldout map.

Size: 258 x 400 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[t.p., iv, foldout map, pp.5-712]

Modern recent half blue morocco binding over marbled paper backed boards without external identification marks (no tooled labels etc). Externally near fine and very attractive. Joints secure with hinges slightly cracked at the front, but with both boards securely attached. The binding secure and without shelf lean, standing vertically stable despite its large size. Endpapers replaced. Newspaper pasted to pastedowns. Text block toned throughout, but no more than commensurate with one's expectations for the age. Title page and preliminaries a little creased, but the text block is generally very good or better throughout. There are abundant illustrations throughout which are offset to verso pages slightly. The last few leaves have some minor repairs to the edges, not affecting any text, and the restoration is of very fine quality. An excellent large format work.
