Condition: 

Full brown calf bindings with red tooled labels in compartments to the spines between raised bands, other compartments with simple decorative gilt. Gilt to spines somewhat dulled. Bindings rubbed and scuffed with some scratches and discolouration marks. All boards attached with joints and hinges cracked, thus fragile. Shelf and edge wear. Red page edges somewhat dulled. There is a tear to the leather of the rear board of volume one which is peeling. Bookplate attached to front pastedown with a pencil inscription above in both volumes. Edge toning to endpapers. Text blocks extremely clean with occasional foxing. Front blank in volume one detached. Damp staining to the front board of volume one.
