Condition:
Collated as complete with 38 plates by Phiz (plus frontis and engraved title page). Spine dulled but remains attractive on the shelf. Some rubbing to the spine, mostly to raised bands, with wear at the head and foot with some slight loss at the head. Some rubbing across the joints with both boards securely attached. The binding is secure and without shelf lean. Some minor wear to hinges. Boards lightly scuffed. Shelf and edge wear as typical. No attached bookplates, small ownership inscription to head of contents page and with the stamp of R.F. Dale to the engraved title page. Frontis and engraved title page heavily toned as typical. Text block mildly toned throughout but generally very clean. Plates also toned as typical, with a bit of foxing. Small tear to NN2 not affecting the text.
