-------------------
An absolutely stunning finely bound edition of Don Quixote, beautifully illustrated by Gustave Dore. This is one of the most sought after editions of Don Quixote for its excellent typography and fine illustrations, this copy being better for its excellent half morocco tooled binding.

Contemporary half red morocco, the spine intricately tooled in gilt in compartments between raised bands. Spine rubbed and a little faded but remains very attractive indeed on the shelf, more rubbed at extremities as typical with corresponding shelf & edge wear. Joints rubbed with some cracked but with both boards securely attached. The cloth backing the boards is a little raised in places, corners rubbed. All edges gilt, top edge dulled as often. Endpapers foxed else generally clean throughout the text block save for some mild uniform toning as typical, and the occasional spot of foxing. Collates as complete.
A beautiful book!
