(large quarto / small folio)

Condition:

Spine slightly rubbed but generally remaining very attractive and overall very good. No substantial loss to gilt; the gilt is bright and shows well. Some light rubbing to joints but with both boards securely attached. The binding is secure and does not have shelf lean. Some shelf and edge wear with slight loss at corners. Some discolouration to boards with some stains to front board. Some splits at hinges but the hinge is reinforced at the gutter of the pastedowns. Without any bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Text block mildly toned. Some foxing at endpapers and a few spots affecting only a few leaves throughout. All page edges gilt, a few scratches and marks etc but generally very good and not particularly dulled as typically found. Generally internally very clean. Uncollated but appears to be complete with a rather substantial amount of illustrations throughout.
