Condition:
[(2), t.p., v-xxviii, pp.1-316, (2)]; [(2), h.t., pp.317-737, (2)]
Uniform half red calf, very finely rebacked, showing beautifully on the shelf. Spines in fine condition. Joints and hinges fine, with all boards securely attached, bindings secure, both vols with a shelf lean. Earlier, probably original boards, a little rubbed with some discolouration, but generally remain very good. Old auction sticker to front board of first volume reading "lot 355". Hinges reinforced preserving earlier endpapers, without attached bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Internally very clean, the odd spot to a few leaves, but generally internally near fine to fine. A beautiful copy, both vols collated as complete - originally published as one volume, with the half title here bound as the title for the second volume.
