VERY RARE. We can trace no other copies of either work having come to market. A later edition of 1673 of the first title appeared for sale at Bonhams 1st April 2008 with an estimate of £200-£400. The second work of 1631 is extremely rare and we can trace no copies at auction or in any bookseller catalogues.

Multiple ink ownership inscriptions: "John Smith", "W. S. Sulluand Yale College July 1st 1822.", and "H. Herrick Aug. 31. 1825."

Condition:

Full brown calf binding, rebacked, with a red tooled label in a compartment to the spine between raised bands, and with decorative blind-stamped borders on both boards. Binding rubbed and scuffed. Shelf and edge wear. Red page edges dulled. No shelf lean. Text block fairly clean with light toning, minor foxing, and occasional very small ink stains. Ink inscriptions to front blank, first title page, pp.432 which is a blank page, the second title page, and on the rear blank. Ink ownership inscription to the paper which would have been underneath the front pastedown, rubbed thus lacking some of the inscription. Lacking pastedowns. Edge tears with minor loss to front blanks.
