Full dark brown calf binding with a light brown tooled label in a compartment to the spine between raised bands. Binding rubbed and scuffed with some wormholing. Backstrip peeling in places. Both boards attached with front joint and hinge cracked, board very loosely attached, partially detached, and wear to rear joint and hinge, starting. Shelf and edge wear. Page edges dulled. Front blank and title page mostly detached. Text block clean with light edge toning and occasional foxing. Text block cracked in a few places, so some gatherings stick out unevenly from the page block. Bookseller sticker attached to rear pastedown. The pagination changes skipping out pp.577/578 but the signatures continue as normal and the catchwords match from pp.576 and 579 (i.e. no leaf is actually lacking here).
