A lovely 19th century illustrated copy of John Foxe’s Book of Martyrs.

Condition:
Contemporary half calf over cloth backed boards, bound by R. Brown in Edinburgh with his small binder ticket to the foot of the rear pastedown, spine sunned, binding rubbed, shelf wear, joints secure though rubbed. Both boards are securely attached, some damage at hinges. A few plates with minor dampstaining, the frontis & title leaf being the most affected. Generally very bright and clean throughout the text block, some (not all) plates toned, offset, a little oxidised, but most plates are nice and clean.
