A lovely edition of Hugo Grotius' Histories and Annals, modelled after Tacitus. An interesting print from Blaeu's printing house with his lovely printer's device to the title page.

Near contemporary full calf, rubbed with some losses. Joints worn with hinges slightly cracked but with both boards securely attached. First blank a little torn. Some leaves are intermittently heavily toned/dirty after pp.496, but prior to that are very clean and bright.
