Full dark brown calf with gilt bands to the spine. Binding with some minor scratches and wear. Spine lightly creased. Lacking tailcap. Small fragment of leather lacking from the bottom of the spine. Both boards securely attached with minor wear to joints and cracked hinges. Shelf and edge wear. Without shelf lean. Red page edges dulled. Lacking pastedowns. Ink inscription to the inner side of the front board. Pencil inscription to front blank. Text block extremely clean with light edge toning and occasional foxing. Ink inscription dulled with damp staining to rear blank, somewhat transferred onto the page opposite. Small hole to rear blank. Pencil inscription to the inner side of the rear board.
