Quarter brown calf over marbled paper backed boards, with red tooled labels in compartments to the spines between raised bands. Binding lightly rubbed and scuffed, the marbled paper somewhat dulled, and with some occasional marks. All boards attached with minor wear to joints and hinges. Shelf and edge wear. Tops of the page edges read "Emanuel Gluckmann" and the remaining sides have inscribed "E.G.", all in red ink. The title pages of both volume have the wrong volume number printed, so an early owner has corrected the mistakes with ink to the title pages of volumes one and two, the tooled labels show the correct volume numbers. Ink ownership inscription to title pages. Small loss to the bottom inner corner of the title page in volume one. Text blocks very clean with light edge toning and occasional foxing and marks.
