Near contemporary full calf binding, rebacked with a new backstrip, including a new tooled label, also recornered. The gilt of the spine is very bright, and the book shows very attractively on the shelf. Both boards are securely attached, the binding is secure and stands with a very slight shelf lean. Joints secure, hinges reinforced, later blanks and pastedowns. Ownership inscriptions to front blank recto. Collates with 29 full page plates throughout. Toned throughout, scattered spotting, printed on relatively thin paper, final two leaves very slightly ragged at the edges, no text loss. G1 and G2 torn in half but with the leaves extant. 11P2 is a list of Martyrs.
