The Complete Works of John Hutchinson (1674-1737), edited by Robert Spearman and Julius Bate.

The first edition of his complete works, third overall of the individual works.

-------------------

John Hutchinson was an English theologian and natural philosopher. In 1724, Hutchinson published Moses' Principia in which he attempted to refute Isaac Newton's theory of gravity and continued to attempt to disprove Newtonian gravitation in later works such as Power Essential and Mechanical and Glory or Gravity.

Hutchinson also taught that the Bible contained the elements not only of true religion but also of all of rational philosophy. Followers of the ideas of John Hutchinson (such as Bishop George Horne of Norwich and William Jones) are called Hutchinsonians. This was detailed in his Natural History of the Bible.

Hutchinson also wrote some rather curious works such as The Religion of Satan or Antichrist Delineated in 1736 and also was severely critical of John Woodward's Natural History of the Earth (1700), included within this set of course.
