Size: 244 x 315 mm (approx.)

Condition:

[(2), frontis, t.p., (iv)-xxxvii, 785pp., 1pp., 5 plates, 10pp., (2)].

Recent half calf over marbled paper backed boards with the contemporary backstrip laid down preserving the majority of this. New endpapers inserted alongside the originals. Leather to the binding with some minor scuffs, but generally very good. The binding is secure and stands without shelf lean. The text block is toned throughout, as typical, there is some mild marginal foxing and a small trace of damp staining to the head of the page block throughout, not affecting text. The full text is legible without loss of sense. Plates collate as complete, including six engraved portraits (including frontis), and five plates at the rear of coats of arms. Each plate has a tissue paper guard; these guards are foxed.
