Contemporary full calf, finely tooled in gilt to the spine in compartments between raised bands. Each volume retains its tooled black morocco label. Very attractive on the shelf. Contemporary coloured red page edges. The bindings are secure with all board securely attached. The volumes stand without shelf lean. Bookplate attached to front pastedown of both volumes. Text blocks heavily offset & toned, but with the text legible. Some mild foxing. There is a loose piece of paper in volume two in Italian from a former owner.
