A beautiful very large folio format King James Bible, perhaps one of the most excellent Bibles of the 1700s for the beautiful abundant illustrations throughout as well as the maps as pictured. A really stunning recent binding preserving the earlier tooled title label.

Modern half calf over green cloth backed boards, preserving an earlier red tooled morocco label which has been relayed to spine between raised bands. Spine near fine with some light bumps. Extremely minor rubbing along the joints, but generally near fine with both boards securely attached. Hinges reinforced with cloth. Endpapers replaced preserving the originals, which have been remounted and have some leaf edge repairs, as well as, leaf edge repairs to the frontis, the frontis also having been remounted. Boards slightly scuffed but generally very good or better. Top page edge a little dulled as typical. The modern binding preserves an earlier sown endcap. Generally very clean throughout the entire text block. 3F1-2 with leaf edge repairs, as well as to a couple of preliminary leaves and the first leaf of Genesis. Mildly toned throughout, especially text block. Verso of plates usually offset as typical. Collated as complete.
