20th century quarter blue morocco over paper backed boards, the spine with the title finely tooled in gilt. The binding shows very attractively on the shelf indeed, without any sunning/fading, etc. Externally fine with very light shelf & edge wear else incredible condition externally. Endpapers replaced with the first few leaves repaired in the gutter. Some foxing to first and last few pages, else generally free of foxing throughout, but with some sporadic foxing to a few pages throughout. Without any attached bookplates. pp.11-14 detached but present. Illustrated plates with tissue guards to their versos. A beautifully bound French language edition of the Gospels.
