Provenance: Bookplate of John Burton Philips. The crest shows a crown wearing lion holding a diamond shape. Burton built Heath House in Staffordshire in 1836. The house was designed by Thomas Johnson in the Tudor style.

Condition: 

Spines with very minor wear. Tooled labels present. All boards securely attached. Boards with very minor superficial scratches. Very minor shelf and edge wear. Very minor dulling to page edges. Bookplate attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Bookplate lightly offset on leaf opposite. Text blocks fairly clean with minor foxing. Page 1 in both volumes prominently foxed. Endpapers prominently foxed. Uncollated but appears complete.
