Little Dorrit was published in 1857. It is set in Victorian England during a period of social and economic change. Half green calf over marbled paper backed boards with a tooled label in a compartment between raised bands. Binding rubbed and scuffed. Both boards attached with rubbing along joints, front hinge cracked, and rear hinge starting, thus somewhat fragile. Shelf and edge wear. Red spotted page edges dulled. Charles Dickens' stamp attached to front pastedown. Glue residue from a removed bookplate to front pastedown. Text block very clean with light toning and occasional foxing. Minor shelf lean.
