Half calf leather over green boards. Intricate gilt tooling in compartments between raised bands to the spine with a black tooled title label present. Spine dulled, discoloured, and rubbed, more so to the head of the spine. Sewn tailpiece broken missing a small section. Boards scuffed with some staining etc. Shelf wear with loss at corners. Without shelf lean. Backstrip detached with the binding held on by the joints, front bottom joint cracked. Without any attached bookplates but with an ink ownership inscription to ffep of James White. Plates (including frontis and engraved t.p.) heavily oxidised and toned with some foxing, a little more so than typical. Two plates are detached but present. Else text mildly toned.
