Full vellum bindings with blind-stamped boards, ink titles to spines in compartments between raised bands. Bindings rubbed and scuffed with some marks and discolouration. Boards very lightly warped. Shelf and edge wear. Corners very lightly turned-in. Red spotted page edges dulled, top edges darkened as often. Shelf lean. Attached bookplate to front pastedown in all volumes, with a pencil inscription above in volume one reading "CXX/- 5 vols ex lib's Hopton Hall Derbys". Text blocks fairly clean with some foxing, and very sporadic very minor marks. Occasional very minor edge tears or corners dog-eared. Four volumes of five, lacking the final volume on the Epistles and Revelation (i.e. all after Acts). Bottom corner of 4H6 has not been trimmed properly, thus there is excess folded over. 3I5-6 in volume four with edge tears that go over some of the text but remain legible. Some light damp staining to the first few and last few leaves in volume three.
An exceptional set, very attractive on the shelf in contemporary full vellum bindings. Do note that these are very large and heavy.
