First edition, containing a foldout facsimile letter as frontispiece and four foldout maps. Very rare in the original fragile binding as this is, and indeed rare nonetheless in the original French.

Condition:
[folout, i-vi, errata, vii-xii, 384pp., four foldout maps].
Spine toned, cracked and lacking fragments. Paper boards toned with minor foxing and creasing. Page edges unevenly cut with light toning, creasing, and some page edges remaining uncut. Endpapers foxed. Foldout transferred onto title page opposite and onto itself. Text block very clean with very sporadic very minor foxing. Foldout maps lightly transferred onto themselves.
Front paper board dated 1822 while the title page is dated 1823.
