Condition: 

[half title, frontis, t.p., 1ff. (dedication), 4pp. (preface), 1ff., 443pp.]; [t.p., 525pp., 9pp., 1pp.]

 

Half brown calf over marbled paper backed boards. Bindings lightly rubbed and scuffed with some loss to marbled paper on boards. All boards attached with joints and hinges starting/cracked. Shelf and edge wear. Some loss of leather to the head of volume two. Marbled page edges dulled. Bookplate and binder's sticker attached to front pastedown in both volumes. Top fragment of pp.1/2 lacking, with no loss of text. Text block very clean with occasional foxing. Frontispiece transferred onto title page opposite with some toning and foxing.
