Napoleon in Exile; or, A Voice from St. Helena. The Opinions and Reflections of Napoleon on the Most Important Events of His Life and Government, in His Own Words. By Barry E. O'Meara. In Two Volumes. Second Edition & Third Edition. London: for W. Simpkin and R. Marshall [by J. McCreery], 1822.

-------------------

Third edition of the first volume and second edition of the second volume of this classic work on Napoleonic History, told by Napoleon's surgeon.

Size: 140 x 215 mm (approx., each)

Condition:

[xxviii, 512pp]; [542pp]

Uniform half calf bindings over marbled boards. Spines rubbed with a little loss and would benefit from the application of a leather conditioner. Lacking one tooled label to the second volume, other tooled red morocco labels are present and are without loss. Shelf wear. Head of volume one's backstrip appears to have been reglued. Joints a little rubbed but with all boards securely attached. A little shelf wear. No shelf lean. Top page edges significantly dulled as typical, other edges very good. Boards a little scuffed but structurally fine. Bumps to corners with minor loss. Endpapers and first & last few leaves foxed else clean throughout the text blocks, though toned.
