Condition:

Bound without half title, 39 plates by Phiz (40 including engraved frontis), collated as complete except the half title which was present in the parts but is practically never found in book form according to Eckel. Externally near fine, the gilt lettering to the spine faded else fine (if it ever was gilted?). Endpapers replaced. No shelf lean or shelf/edge wear. Externally excellent with joints fine and both boards securely attached. Top page edge dulled as typical, other edges very good. Sewn headcap and tailpiece replaced, fine. Excellent through the text block, mildly toned with some very occasional very small staining. Plates toned with some foxing, but better than typical.

An excellent example.
