STUNNING FINE CONTEMPORARY BINDING, BOUND IN THE MANNER OF ED MOOR, THE IMPORTANT CAMBRIDGE BINDER ACTIVE C.1740s.

Armorial bookplate of "Robert Lane" with the motto "celeriter".

Ink inscriptions with dates ranging from 1738 to 1914.

Condition:

Fine full calf binding with gilt tooling to spine and with gilt tooled borders to boards. Spine lightly rubbed, more so to extremities. Both boards securely attached with very minor wear to joints and hinges. Boards lightly rubbed and scuffed. Rear board with a small scratch which has caused some loss to the leather. Shelf and edge wear. All page edges gilt, foxing visible when spread. Bookplate attached to front pastedown. Ink inscriptions to front blanks. Title page foxed. Text block fairly clean with light edge toning and some foxing.
