Half calf leather binding over marbled boards, c.1880. Spine uniformly sunned but presents very well on the shelf and is notably attractive. Without any significant wear/rubbing, etc. Joints fine with both boards securely attached. Boards fine without the usual scuffs etc found on similar period bindings. Very light shelf wear. Page edges very good with top edge dulled slightly as typical. Ink ownership inscription to front pastedown which is fairly difficult to see. Endpapers foxed with the text block very clean throughout, mildly toned with the odd bit of foxing with the majority of leaves near fine to fine. Collated as complete without any missing pages, illustrations, etc.
