Size: 125 x 190 mm (approx.)

Condition:

Bound in two volumes with books 1-6 of Paradise Lost in the first volume, and 7-12 in the second. Expertly rebacked spines which show as fine on the shelf with attractive bright red tooled labels. Very minor wear to joints but with all boards securely attached, the bindings secure and without shelf lean. Some wear to the boards which are probably original or very near to the time of publication. Attractive gilt borders to the boards with some slight loss. Some shelf and edge wear with top page edges dulled slightly as typical. Contemporary endpapers without any bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Title pages trimmed at head to remove an early ownership inscription, but not affecting the titles or any text on the reverso or otherwise. Toning throughout the text blocks with some leaves more affected than others but with the majority of leaves very clean. Some very light foxing affecting a few leaves through the text blocks, more significant to the front and rear of each volume but in no manner overly intrusive. No loss to text.
