Rebound in full morocco with the original paper board bound in at the front and rear. Gilt title, date and bands to the spine, somewhat dulled. Binding with the very minor wear, mostly rubbing, and blind-stamped "Malcolm Rogers" to the bottom of the front board. Both boards securely attached. New and original endpapers present. Page edges lightly dulled, and the side edge rough due to having to be cut upon purchase, and so some of the gatherings remain uncut. Original paper boards toned, lightly creased in places, with a few marks, and with some small edge tears. Text block very clean with edge toning and occasional foxing. New endpapers somewhat offset at the edge by the original paper boards. All illustrations present as according to the list of plates. Stamp reading "Printed in France" to the bottom of the last page of the list of illustrations.
