The frontispiece is dated 1856 thus we have attributed the date of printing to circa 1856, despite being undated to the title page. The book has fantastic typography and illustrations throughout.

Bound fully in calf with tooled label present and gilt tooling between and on raised bands. Spine and small part of the rear board sunned. Binding rubbed, scuffed and with scratches. Very small indents to the bottom of the spine. Both boards attached with rubbed joints, and front joint and both hinges starting. Minor shelf and edge wear. Very minor dulling to page edges. Text block very clean with light toning and very sporadic very minor foxing. Small damp stains with bled page edge design to leaf edges to notes section in the rear of the text block and to rear endpapers.
