Spine near fine, very minor black discolouration near the raised bands. Some rubbing across the joints with both boards securely attached. No shelf lean with the binding secure. Front board near fine, rear board very good with some loss to the leather in the bottom right corner. All page edges marbled, top edge dulled as typical. No attached bookplates. Light pencil writing to ffep verso from a previous bookseller, presumably from circa 1970 given the provenance of the private collection this book came from. Blanks foxed with the text block very clean throughout and essentially without fault. 439pp collated as complete though bound without a half title if called for.
